Damage Control

Michael Shriver

Warmer weather is here in Austin and you may be wondering how to care for your plants that were damaged during the freezing weather. Follow these steps to help your plants recover and get your yard ready for Spring!

  1. Gently run your hands through the plant to remove any dead leaves or stems that come off easily.

  2. Don't pull on anything that doesn't come out easily. Even if it looks brown and dead, the plant is still able to pull nutrients from the soil that will help it regrow.

3. Wait a few days, then repeat until all of the brown leaves are gone. You may start to see some new growth already!

4. Add some fertilizer and continue to water. We like this one.
